BRANDING, ILLUSTRATION, ART DIRECTION

William (Bill) McCoy, an American sea captain and bootlegger, used Jacksonville as a port of entry for whiskey into the United States and dealt in "Rum row" off Long Island. Bill is credited for inventing the "Burlock", a package holding six bottles jacketed in burlap; three bottles on the bottom, two in the middle and one on top. This contraption made it easier to stow the product for transportation. The “Burlock and Barrel” brand is born.

Develop the “Burlock and Barrel” brand identity, leveraging the local heritage of prohibition era of Jacksonville, Florida.  The branding is a hand lettered font and the icon is a play on the mystery of Bill McCoy.
